Yay, I’m a IBM Certified Application Developer – WebSphere ILOG JRules V7.0

I still can’t believe that the examination score report for Test 000-529: IBM WebSphere ILOG JRules V7.0, Application Development for today’s exam session of mine is with GRADE: Pass! The score doesn’t look well (just 64%), but with the recent failure at the assessment test it seems as a gift 🙂

I learnt a lot during the certification session so although the score is low my knowledge of ILOG JRules grew up exponentially. It’s clear I need another, more practical approach to my learning. The current one didn’t work well (however I cleared the exam and so I should be happy).

      Hi Asha

Can I get some information regarding Ilog from you ?
I evaluated the Ilog Jrule version 7 for a while now and did the miniloan application given in the IBM documentation.

Can you suggest me better sources of Ilog knowledge ? I mean is there a good book for it ? or Do i have to take the IBM training course ?? The course is very expensive for me. So, if you have any pdfs or any materials, please forward it to me .

      Regards
      Raghu.

  5. hey..i m new 2 ilog jrules …i want 2 knw about the scope of this certification…

  6. Hi,

I am planning to take the WebSphere ILOG JRules V7.0 test. How would you qualify the real exam questions compared with the ones in the assessment test?

    Thanks,
    Leo

  7. Hi Leo,

I don’t really remember, but what I do is that I failed the assessment test twice. I was pretty sure I couldn’t have passed the exam, and despite the test results and having been encouraged by a teammate of mine, I eventually made it.

  8. Hi,

I just cleared my iLog 000-529 certification today. I studied for about a month and just passed and was able to get 56%(phew). I do not have any prior experience in BRMS.

Just wanted to know if I did well, average …..

    • Congrats! Would you mind to share a bit what was the hardest part of the exam? How did you learn the tool? What did you like about the exam and what did you not?

  9. I really dint find anything hard so to speak. There were a lot of concepts and getting to know them was challenging.
I learnt the tool by just exploring it and creating sample applications and a web service.

To prepare for the exam I only learnt from a PDF. I noticed that they asked questions on DVS and Testing(custom scenario) which were not covered in the PDF which is suggested for the exam.

Overall I found the IBM material very poorly documented for someone who is completely new. Another thing I noticed is that they do not have any practise questions through which we can test our application of the knowledge.

I am not sure if I did well or if a did average., I want to judge my performance. Like I said I am completely new to iLog and prepared for about a month. Did I do ok or well?

    Hey Buddy,

Congrats on your certification. Can you please suggest me a reliable book for Ilog Jrules ? I have done an evaluation of the software and have done the basic implementation described in the IBM documentation of the miniloan application. But I want an in depth knowledge of ilog . So, If you can suggest me a good source of knowledge other than the expensive IBM course online, then that would be great

Have a good day. Looking forward for a reply from you.

    Regards
    Raghu.

  11. There isnt much material around on iLog except the IBM course and their product documentation.

If you dint want to go for the course probably you can download their trial product and go through the product documentation which is pretty informative. Hope that helps.

  12. @ Farooq – Well, BRMS is not a kids game that you play with some sample application and get some certificate with below average marks and start commenting on expert forums.

It requires enough experience to implement BRMS systems in the real business scenarios and writing such comments is really KIDDISH.

For gods sake, refrain from such activities in future…
